چکیده

Abstract Purpose In the last years, role of PET imaging in assessment cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) is emerging. this setting, some tracers have proven their utility for evaluation disease (mainly 11 C-Pittsburgh compound B [ C-PIB]), however, value other radiotracers has to be clarified. The aim systematic review is, therefore, assess CAA. Methods A wide literature search PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, Embase, Web Science and Cochrane library databases was made find relevant published articles about diagnostic performance Quality including risk bias applicability concerns carried out using QUADAS-2 evaluation. Results comprehensive computer revealed 651 articles. On reviewing titles abstracts, 622 were excluded because reported data not within field interest. Twenty-nine studies included review. general, with its CAA, differential diagnosis a correlation clinico-pathological features. With less evidence, 18F-fluorodeoxiglucose ( 18 F-FDG) tau starting emerge. Conclusion demonstrated particular, amiloid higher retention CAA patients, bleed, ability differentiate between related conditions (such as Alzheimer's disease) cerebrospinal fluid biomarkers.

Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy: A Systematic Review

Cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) is a disorder characterized by amyloid deposition in the walls of leptomeningeal and cortical arteries, arterioles, and less often capillaries and veins of the central nervous system. CAA occurs mostly as a sporadic condition in the elderly, its incidence associating with advancing age. All sporadic CAA cases are due to deposition of amyloid-β, originating from...

Genetics of cerebral amyloid angiopathy: systematic review and meta-analysis.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) is common in the ageing brain and is associated with dementia and lobar intracerebral haemorrhage. We systematically reviewed genetic associations with CAA to better understand its pathogenesis. METHODS We comprehensively sought and critically appraised published studies of associations between any genetic polymorphism and histopatholog...

Imaging Findings of Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy, Aβ-Related Angiitis (ABRA), and Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy–Related Inflammation

Vascular inflammation is present in a subset of patients with cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) and has a major influence in determining the disease manifestations. Radiological characterization of this subset is particularly important to achieve early recognition and treatment. We conducted this study to investigate the role of imaging in differentiating CAA with and without inflammation. We r...

Imaging features of intracerebral hemorrhage with cerebral amyloid angiopathy: Systematic review and meta-analysis

BACKGROUND We sought to summarize Computed Tomography (CT)/Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) features of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) associated with cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) in published observational radio-pathological studies. METHODS In November 2016, two authors searched OVID Medline (1946-), Embase (1974-) and relevant bibliographies for studies of imaging features of lobar or...
